Limerick Under 16 Camogie All Ireland Champions
Congrats to our U16 All Ireland Camogie Champions Eileen Herbert, Caitlin Ryan, Anna Rose Benson and Kate Grant. A fantastic Limerick team led by their wonderful manager and Na Piarsaigh Clubman Diarmuid Ryan. The Limerick girls defeated Galway on a scoreline of 10 points to 9 in a nail-biting finish in Nolan Park on Saturday evening. The All Ireland title adds to the Munster title achieved earlier in the summer. Well done to Diarmuid, his management team and all the players on a brilliant campaign.

Minor Footballers Make it 2 From 2
Our minor footballers had their second win against Balllyanders on Wednesday in the club. Against a strong breeze in first half we were under pressure but our backs were very solid and Ben O’Regan brought off some fine saves. Tommy Glynn and Darragh Jordan scored 2 well worked goals with Daragh also blasting against the upright. Tommy Glynn scored 3 points and Daniel Collins punched a nice point just before half time. Half time score: Na Piarsaigh 2-04 Ballylanders 1-06
In the second half our players 1 to 15 gave everything to produce a brilliant display of football. Ronan Benson and John Robinson took over at midfield and John O’Keefe marked their dangerous centre forward out of the game. Sean Harrington at corner back was also outstanding following his man all over the field and got on loads of ball, distributing it wisely. Our forwards really raised their game and scored 1-08. Mark Hogan showed his class and guile picking off 5 lovely points. Tadgh Mullane used his strength to power his way through for a well worked goal while Ronan Benson, Tommy Glynn and sub Brian Connoly also had a point each. Leon Power at centre forward also got on a lot of ball. What was really pleasing was the way the team quickly passed the ball around and created the scoring opportunities.
Final Score: Na Piarsaigh 3-12 Ballylanders 1-07
Team: Ben O’Regan, Sean Harrington, Louis Murphy, Paul McDonagh, Darragh Jordan, John O’Keefe, Adam Fitzsimons, Ronan Benson, John Robinson, Daniel Collins, Leon Power, Mark Hogan, Tadgh Mullane, Adam Hallihan, Tommy Glynn.
Subs used: Joe Patton, Brian Connolly, Sean Condon.

Junior C Hurlers Have an Opening Round Loss
Our Junior C hurlers kicked off their championship campaign with a loss to Kildimo Pallaskenry last Monday evening. Played in dry conditions in Kildimo, it was a case of goals win games on this occasion. Hit for 3 quick goals early on, we fought our way back into the game, cutting the margin to 2 points just after half time. But 2 more sucker punch goals in the second half made the mountain too big a climb. The performance of KP’s goalkeeper John Chalke must be noted, him pulling off some exceptional saves throughout to deny our forwards a green flag. This until Gordon Leonard rattled the net from a placed ball with 10 to play. Notable performances on the night from James Naughton and Jack McCarthy at the back, with Conor Stack and Ben O’Regan showing well up top. Final score: Na Piarsaigh 1-18 Kildimo Pallaskenry 5-10
Team: James Linnane, Cathal Hassett, Brian Buckley, John Leahy, Eoin Keogh, Jack McCarthy, Derek Grimes, Eoin Sherlock, James Naughton, Ger Kearns, Gordon Leonard, Conor Stack, Ben O'Regan, Eddie O'Neill, Justin Nordon.
Subs: Tom Quinn, Dave Sheehan, Ger Naughton.
Murphy Brother’s Qualify for The All Ireland Fleadh
Big congratulations to brothers Louis and Marcus Murphy, on both placing in the Munster Fleadh in Thurles on Sunday. Both playing the fiddle, Louis came first in the Senior Group competition, while Marcus came second in the Trio, The Duet and the Solo Competition. They will now go on to compete in the All-Ireland Fleadh, which is to take place in Wexford in August. Louis has lined out for our minor hurling and football teams this year, along with playing in both rounds of the senior football championship. He’s also a key member of the Junior B hurling squad.
