Our Gaelic mothers and others group was launched at the end of august 2022 in Na Piarsaigh. We had one of the highest attendances ever recorded for G4M&O session in the country on the first night and the numbers averaged out at approx 50 per session from there. The aim of the initiative was to give women in the community an outlet to meet other women in the area, to have fun while exercising and to just leave it all behind for an hour…play a bit of Gaelic Football too!

From there, a committee was formed and now over 40 Women (and growing) have registered with the ladies Gaelic football Association. The Na Piarsaigh Mothers & Others entered their first competitive blitz on November 12th hosted by Ballybrown GAA and won both games.
Attributing to its success, has been the support, belief and encouragement of the Na Piarsaigh
GAA club , Executive’s and Members. A special mention to Coaches within the club who were delighted to assist with coaching the skills of Gaelic Football, promoting fun, camaraderie and a sense of accomplishment at the end of each session.
The initiative has been welcomed and supported by the community and the club. We hope to continue its success in 2023 and for years to come.
Don’t let the name put you off, you don’t need to be a Mother! Come down, try it out , meet new people and have fun .. no experience required!
