What is the G.A.A?

The Gaelic Athletic Association is the largest sporting organisation in the country. It plays a vital part in Irish society with clubs in every corner of Ireland and beyond.

It is part of the Irish consciousness and plays an influential role in Irish society that extends far beyond the basic aim of promoting Gaelic games. The GAA has a number of core values that are stitched into the fabric of everything we do.

These include

  • Community
  • Respect
  • Amateur status
  • Teamwork
  • Player welfare
  • Inclusiveness

The Association prides itself on its amateur status run by a volunteer-led organisation deep-rooted in the community and inclusive of all people.
