The safeguarding of our members will always be a key priority as we recognise that the welfare of the child is of the utmost importance.
Every player and parent who registers with Na Piarsaigh GAA will agree to abide by our codes of behaviour. Please read them carefully. As each policy is reviewed and updated, the latest iteration will be publishing here, making it available and easily accessible to members. It is the responsibility of each and every member of our club to ensure that best practice is implemented in Na Piarsaigh GAA.

We are committed to upholding Club policies. The responsibilities of Child Protection and Child Welfare are shared by us all.
Player Injury Scheme
The GAA have an injury scheme (fund) in place, which is funded entirely from Club and GAA funds. The scheme is NOT an insurance cover and is not intended to fully compensate for injury, but rather lessen the hardship to players and officials. The scheme’s purpose is to supplement other schemes or insurance cover where applicable e.g. VHI, Aviva. These should always be leveraged in the first instance.

Guidelines on the use of media
Taking photographs of players and the use of websites and social media to publicise Na Piarsaigh GAA are normal activities in club life. This also includes visual recordings of events, games, training and coaching sessions.
A common-sense approach is required when deciding what may or may not be appropriate to publish, as we do not wish to prohibit the advantage that this type of media can afford the club while adhering to best practice guidelines. This document is the Na Piarsaigh GAA official guide and policy in this regard.
E-Vetting in the GAA
The GAA has a long-established principle of vetting any person who, on our behalf, works with children or vulnerable adults in our Association. This principle is enshrined in rule through our Code of Best Practice in Youth Sport and has become part of the overall recruitment and selection process for those who wish to work with us in the GAA, in a voluntary or paid role.
