Connected School-Na Piarsaigh – Your Support is Needed!
For many years, we have had fantastic people working in our local schools across generations which helped bring us to our current levels of success. We appreciate that the link between our local Schools and Na Piarsaigh is crucial, and we want to build on those foundations. Building a “Connected School-Na Piarsaigh” fosters the future pool of players, coaches, supporters and members through collaboration and wellbeing for our community schools and our club. Our key focused outcomes include continuing to foster relationships between local “School-Na Piarsaigh”, to utilise Na Piarsaigh expertise to promote and be advocates for GAA games, and to create a pathway for all pupils, teachers, parents, and family members into our club Na Piarsaigh.
Our coach and player development team are seeking expressions of interest from those who are willing to help. We are actively looking for coaches that are available and willing to coach in our feeder primary schools between 9:00 - 14:30. School Liaisons, to help facilitate the link between school coaches, school management and the club Coaching and Player Development Team in relation to a feeder school. And School Parents. Parents of pupils who are club members in our feeder primary schools to provide feedback and assist both the School Liaison and school coaches in providing for Gaelic Games in your child's school.
So, if you are interested in supporting our future, and want to know, all you need to do is simply email secretary.napiarsaigh.limerick@gaa.ie – add you name and contact number and what role you would be interested in. We will be in touch to share more details.
Parents Information Night
We will be holding an information night for parents next Friday the 26th of January from 7pm to 8 in the Na Piarsaigh clubhouse. The night will be aimed at parents of under 12’s to under 18’s, in both hurling and football. A presentation will be given on the club structure, player pathway, team management, Setanta S&C, player welfare and season outline. This will be hugely beneficial to all parents and we look forward to seeing you there come Friday night.

Hurling
Ardscoil Rís continued winning ways with a 1 point victory over Thurles CBS in the Harty Cup semi-final, played in Kalmallock last Saturday. Ardscoil got off to a flying start scoring 8 unanswered points but Thurles didn’t let them go too far out of sight with the score standing at 0-12 to 0-7 at half time. The second half was a bit more nervy with Thurles scoring the only goal of the game with 9 minutes remaining. This put the Tipp side a point to the good but Ardscoil brought it back to a level game with the clock almost up. A free at the death was enough for the Limerick men to get over the line and back into a Harty Final having missed out last year. Na Piarsaigh’s James Finn lined out at wing back while John O’Keefe was introduced at the 50 minute mark. Ronan Benson, Sean Harrington and Eoin Brosnan are also on the extended panel. Ardscoil will now face Nenagh’s St. Joesph’s CBS in the final, with details of the fixture to be released this week.
Camogie
Na Piarsaigh Camogie are delighted to announce the appointment of Mike Flynn Senior Camogie Manager. A former senior hurler with Na Piarsaigh, in recent years Mike has served as manager of the Parteen intermediate hurlers and before that serving on Joe Quaid’s backroom team for both Westmeath and Kildare senior hurlers. He will be joined by Eddie O'Neill (Coach), Darragh Kennedy (S&C), Bridget Stanley (Liaison Officer), Ciaran Harty (First Aid) and some more back room members yet to be announced. We wish Mike and his team every success for the season ahead.
