Senior Footballers Get Off to a Winning Start
Our Senior Football team traveled to Oola on Saturday for the first round of the County League. The starting lineup featured three players making their senior debut in Aaron Rush, John Leahy, and Stanley Dike.
With a strong breeze in the first half, the team delivered an excellent performance, leading 4-5 to 0-3 at halftime. The scorers were: Kieran Daly (1-3), Dean McLoughlin (AKA Spud) (1-0), John Leahy (1-0), Christy O’Hagan (1-0), Conor McLoughlin (0-1) and Evan Egan (0-1).
The pick of the goals came from Christy, who made a brilliant run from defense before finishing with a superb strike next to the upright. A goal he’ll remember for a long time, especially if he doesn’t score another one!
The second half told a different story, with Oola applying significant pressure. However, our defense held firm, limiting their goal-scoring opportunities. With 12 minutes to go, substitute Tommy Glynn slotted over a lovely point, followed by another from Kieran Daly. Tommy and fellow substitute Harry McGann, who entered in the 48th minute, both showcased glimpses of their skill and talent.
Final Score: Na Piarsaigh 4-7, Oola 1-10
Manager/coach duo Timmy Dalton and Jason Donohue were very pleased with the team’s overall performance.

Sean O’Brien - Limerick U16 Hurlers
Well done to Sean O’Brien who lined out for the Limerick U16 hurlers in mid-February in the Todd Nolan Tournament, held in Kerry. Limerick overcame Clare in the semi-final after extra time, but lost out to Cork in the final.
Limerick Senior Hurlers
We would like to extend our congratulations to Vince Harrington on making his Limerick Senior debut against Clare on Sunday. This is the second Na Piarsaigh player to make the setup to the intercounty stage with Dylan Lynch making his maiden appearance against Tipp earlier in the league. Well done lads.
Third Level Success
We had Na Piarsaigh involvement in some great success at third level over the past month in both hurling and camogie. Sophie Duggan was part of the Mary I panel that were victorious in the Purcell Cup, defeating UL in the final. On the hurling side, John Fitzgerald was a member of the UL squad that won the Fitzgibbon Cup, John featuring in their semi-final win over Munster Technological University. JJ Carey played a key role in UL’s intermediate team winning the Munster Intermediate title last month, while John O’Keeffe was part of UL’s Fresher 1 squad that won the Fresher All Ireland last week.
